A 43-year-old woman was arrested for alleged impaired driving in Enfield, N.S., last week, according to the RCMP. Police responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver of a silver SUV who left a business in the 6700 block of Highway 2 around 7:20 p.m. on Oct. 1. Officers learned the driver allegedly ordered food but was unable to pay. She then drove through the parking lot in a heavily damaged SUV, failing to stop at two stop signs, according to an RCMP news release. Around 9 p.m., police learned the suspected driver was parked outside the business in a Nissan Xterra. An officer spoke with the woman and allegedly observed signs of alcohol impairment. The woman, who is from Middle Porters Lake, failed a roadside breath sample and was arrested for impaired driving. She went to the Enfield RCMP detachment and provided breath samples of 130 mg% and 120 mg%. She was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
