Police in Nova Scotia continue to seek answers from the public into the shooting death of a 36-year-old man that happened one year ago. Halifax Regional Police received a report that a man was shot near the 1100 block of Downey Road in North Preston just before midnight on May 8, 2024. The victim, Tyrell Beals, of Westphal, N.S., was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police began investigating his death as a homicide and said at the time there was no information to suggest it was a random act. Police say Beals’ homicide remains unsolved and they need information from the public to advance their investigation. “We need your help to bring closure to his loved ones,” says Sgt. Jason Withrow of the RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division in a news release Thursday. Police are asking anyone who was in the area of Downey Road on May 8, 2024, or has information regarding Beals’ death to contact them at 902-490-5020.
