Nova Scotians are now able to book publicly funded vaccines by calling 811 – the province’s health information line. Residents can book an appointment through 811 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Jan. 1 to Sept. 30 and 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Oct. 1 to Dec. 31. The change went into effect Tuesday and includes vaccines such as COVID-19, influenza, adult respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), pneumococcal, shingles and meningococcal B. “Vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to protect your health,” said Michelle Thompson, minister of Health and Wellness, in a news release from the province. “By adding vaccine booking to 811, we’re simplifying access to help support people and communities.” Nova Scotians can book an appointment: The province says the previous vaccine booking line – 1-833-797-7772 – is still available for the following: Callers looking to book a publicly funded vaccine will be redirected to 811.
