Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island will be adjusting the price of gasoline and diesel this weekend. After a slight drop in gas and diesel prices on Friday, Nova Scotia will be adjusting the pump costs with the interrupter clause at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday. The change will affect all grades of gasoline and diesel oil. The Nova Scotia Energy Board says it monitors the gasoline and diesel oil markets daily and notes these changes are “necessary to due to significant shifts in the market prices.” The current minimum price of regular self-serve gasoline in the Halifax area is 185.4 cents per litre. The minimum price of diesel is 237.6 cents per litre. The Prince Edward Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission also said there will be a price interruption for regular and premium gasoline, along with furnace oil and diesel, at 12:01 a.m. on Saturday. “The Commission has recently adopted the practice of providing advance notice if there will be an unscheduled price adjustment (interruption),” a news release from the Commission reads. “The Commission has adopted this practice on a permanent basis to provide as much pricing stability and certainty to retailers and consumers as possible.” P.E.I.’s next scheduled pricing adjustment is on Tuesday.
