Nova Scotia is adjusting the price of gasoline for the third time in a week.

Nova Scotia is changing the cost of gasoline at the pump for the third time in a week as the provincial energy board invokes its interrupter mechanism.

The Nova Scotia Energy Board said the price of all grades of gasoline will be adjusted at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday due to “significant shifts in the market price.”

The price of diesel, which already increased by 14.9 cents over the weekend, will not be impacted by this change.

“The Energy Board monitors the markets for gasoline and diesel oil daily and, should conditions warrant, may set a new price at any time,” the board said in a news release.

The current minimum price of gasoline in the Halifax area is 152.7 cents per litre. The energy board used the interrupter mechanism to raise the cost of gasoline last Wednesday, and then raised it again on Friday.
