A Windsor man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter for pushing a man down a flight of stairs. Kevin Harris, 46, had been charged with second degree murder in the death of Walter Ronald Hryniw, 53. He died at a home on Wyandotte St. W. after falling down a flight of stairs on Oct. 16, 2025. Court learned Wednesday, Hryniw was in a relationship with Harris’ ex-girlfriend. In an agreed statement of facts, Hryniw arrived at Harris’ home at 6:20 am and confronted him over alleged drug use. The men got into a fight with one witness telling police she heard someone say "get out" followed by several loud thumps. Hryniw was pushed down seven steps and hit his head on the bottom landing. He was sent to hospital where he later died. The autopsy identified the cause of death of as ‘blunt impact head trauma.’ Harris initially fled the scene but later turned himself in to police where he has been in custody ever since A sentencing date has not been determined.
