Power has been restored following a large outage outside New Glasgow, N.S., Friday morning. The outage was impacting 8,499 customers in Merigomish and surrounding communities. Power in the area went out around 6:15 a.m. It was expected to be restored at 11:30 a.m., but was back on before 9:30 a.m. The cause of the outage was wildfire interference, according to Nova Scotia Power’s outage map. “We’re sorry for the disruption on your Friday morning,” the utility said in a post on social media.
