Man faces more than two dozen weapons, drug charges after Halifax home searched

A man is facing more than 30 firearms and drug-related charges after police searched a home in Halifax early Thursday morning.

Officers with Halifax Regional Police and the RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment conducted the search in the 3500 block of Connaught Avenue around 4:50 a.m.

Police say they found and seized a quantity of drugs, money, multiple firearms and ammunition.

A 43-year-old man was taken into custody.

Clinton Christie was scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court Thursday to face the following charges:

• store firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations (three counts)
• possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace (three counts)
• unauthorized possession of a firearm (three counts)
• possession of a prohibited weapon
• possession of a firearm – no licence/certificate (three counts)
• possession of a prohibited/restricted weapon/ammunition-no licence
• possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm (two counts)
• possession of a prohibited device or ammunition obtained by crime (three counts)
• possession of a firearm contrary to order (six counts)
• tampering with serial number on firearm
• possession of illicit cannabis
• possession for the purpose of trafficking
• possession for the purpose of distributing
• possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling
• possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
• failure to comply with probation order (two counts)
