Man charged in armed robbery in Blockhouse: N.S. RCMP

A man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery in Blockhouse, N.S., earlier this month, says Lunenburg District RCMP.

Police responded to a report of a robbery at a business in the 500 block of Highway 325 on Oct. 13. At that time, officers learned a man entered the store and pointed a firearm at the clerk demanding money.

Police say Brandon Lee Wentzell of Lunenburg County was arrested on Thursday.

Wentzell has been charged with:

• possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• unauthorized possession of a firearm
• possession of a weapon when knowing possession unauthorized
• possession of firearm in motor vehicle
• robbery with a firearm
• using firearm in the commission of an offence
• pointing a firearm
• careless use of a firearm
• disguised with intent to commit an offence

He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
