A 21-year-old man is facing charges following a “hate-motivated” incident in Middle Sackville, N.S., last week. Officers responded to a report that a man had “threatened and followed a youth” last Wednesday evening. The youth was a passenger in a parked vehicle on Midnight Run when the man allegedly tried to remove the youth from the car. “When the vehicle left the area, the man followed, driving dangerously while continuing to make threats toward the youth during a cellphone conversation with the driver,” reads an RCMP news release. “Through the investigation, officers determined the man’s actions were hate-motivated.” Police arrested the man at the Lower Sackville RCMP Detachment on Friday. Matthew Michael Jones of the Halifax Regional Municipality has been charged with: Jones appeared in court on Friday and was released on conditions.
