Halifax police investigating three assaults that left three people seriously injured

Halifax police are investigating a series of assaults they say are all related.

Police in Halifax are investigating three assaults that left three people seriously injured in the city Wednesday night – and they believe they are all connected.

Halifax Regional Police responded to the 6200 block of Africville Road around 7:05 p.m. after receiving reports a man had been struck by a vehicle. Police say a black vehicle was seen fleeing the scene.

When officers arrived, they found the man who had been struck by a vehicle, and a woman who was also hurt. Police say the woman’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a weapon.

The man and woman were both taken to hospital with serious injuries.

At 7:20 p.m., police were called to the 3800 block of Memorial Drive after reports that a group of people had just assaulted a man with a weapon. The group was seen arriving and fleeing in two black vehicles.

Police found the injured man, who was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators believe all three incidents are related and stem from a dispute that began earlier Wednesday evening. They also believe the suspects are all known to one another.

No arrests have been made at this time.
