The Halifax Regional Police is investigating alleged arsons that caused flooding in several apartments Wednesday morning. Emergency crews responded to a fire at an apartment complex on the 2700 block of Brunswick Street around 2:50 a.m. At the scene, police found another fire at an adjoining apartment building. “A fire was set in disposal bins located in the stairwells at both scenes,” a news release from the police reads. “The smoke from the fire caused the sprinkler systems to activate causing damage and flooding to several units as a result.” There were no reported injuries. The investigation is ongoing. For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
