Delays are expected Wednesday on a busy road in Halifax as power pole repairs continue in the area. Two poles broke on Bayers Road following strong winds Tuesday morning. Nova Scotia Power said crews secured the area, but repairs couldn’t be completed until weather conditions improved. The Halifax Regional Municipality says the repair work will continue on Bayers Road between Romans Avenue and Mailing Street Wednesday. Bayers Road is reduced to a single outbound lane in the area. Inbound lanes are not impacted. Drivers are being told they should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes. Halifax Transit routes 8, 28, 192, 194, 196 and 330 travel through the outbound lane and will experience delays. Bus stop 6198 at Bayers Road after Barnstead Lane is closed while the work is underway. Passengers on routes 8 and 28 are being told to use stop 6194 at Bayers Road at Bayers Road Centre. A section of the sidewalk is also closed. At the peak of Tuesday’s wind and rain storm, 30,000 Nova Scotia Power customers were without electricity.
