Nova Scotia Power says a copper wire theft at a substation triggered an emergency outage in the Burnside area of Dartmouth, N.S., on Thursday. In a social media post, the utility said they are assessing the damage and expect the outage will last about one hour. “We’re very sorry for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience while we fix this,” the post reads. According to the Nova Scotia Power outage map, roughly 3,187 customers near Wrights Cove and Shannon Cove were without electricity due to a transmission interruption around 1 p.m. Thursday.
