Saint John police arrest two people in connection with fatal shooting

Saint John police have arrested two people in connection with a fatal shooting two weeks ago.

The Saint John Police Force has arrested and charged two people in connection to a fatal shooting in the uptown area two weeks ago.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired around the 182-block of St. James Street at roughly 11:07 p.m. on Nov. 11. They found an unconscious 42-year-old man suffering a serious injury at the scene.

The man went to hospital where he was later declared deceased.

On Tuesday, police arrested an unnamed 33-year-old man in the St. James Street South area around 2:38 p.m. He was charged with second-degree murder.

At 8:30 p.m. that same day, police arrested an unnamed 27-year-old woman in the Pitt and Wentworth streets area. She was charged with accessory after the fact to murder.

Both suspects were scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
