A man and woman from New Brunswick have been arrested after police say they seized drugs from a home in Elsipogtog First Nation, N.B. The Southeast Community Crime Reduction Unit started an investigation into illegal drug trafficking in the First Nation community on April 9. As a result, police searched a home and vehicle located on Big Cove Road last Thursday. During the search, police say they seized what is believed to be cocaine, crack cocaine, hydromorphone, drug trafficking paraphernalia and cellphones. The force says a 49-year-old man from Shediac, N.B., and a 39-year-old woman from Elsipogtog First Nation were arrested at the scene. The man was remanded into custody on unrelated charges.
