An inmate was hospitalized after an alleged assault at the maximum-security Atlantic Institution in New Brunswick last week. Correctional Service Canada (CSC) says the inmate was attacked on Aug. 4. They went to an outside hospital for treatment and later returned to the institution. “The assailant has been identified, and the appropriate actions have been taken,” the CSC says in a news release. “No staff members or other inmates were injured during this incident.” The Blackville RCMP is investigating the incident.
