28-year-old woman identified as Fredericton homicide victim

The Fredericton police are investigating a homicide after human remains were found on Monday.

The Fredericton Police Force is investigating a homicide after human remains were discovered in a wooded area of the city Monday afternoon.

Officers received reports that human remains were found near Two Nations Crossing on Fredericton’s north side around 3:30 p.m.

Police say they found the body of a woman at the scene. She has been identified as 28-year-old Montana Solomon of Fredericton.

Investigators suspect foul play in Solomon’s death and are treating it as a homicide.

“Police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and reassure the public there is no on-going concern for community safety as it is believed this was an isolated incident,” said the Fredericton Police Force.

“No arrests have been made at this time. An autopsy is pending.”
