Fredericton police are sharing an update on last Friday’s fatal bridge crash. The Princess Margaret Bridge closed in both directions around 10:45 a.m. following a collision between a vehicle and a transport truck. The driver, a 41-year-old woman, and a 23-year-old female passenger died at the scene. Police say they will not be releasing their names at the request of their families. Another passenger, a 24-year-old woman, was taken to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the transport truck was also taken to hospital for assessment. They have since been released. Police say no charges are expected at this time, but the cause and circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
