Royal watchers on Canada's West Coast have had their smartphones out to document the week-long visit by Prince William, his wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge and their two young children.

The tour, which kicked off Saturday in Victoria, B.C., includes stops in Vancouver, Kelowna, Bella Bella and Haida Gwaii, as well as appearances in the Yukon communities of Whitehorse and Carcross.

Saturday, Oct. 1 (Day 8)

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent their final day of the royal visit in Victoria, focusing on youth and mental health issues.

They started the day with a visit to the Cridge Centre for the Family which is a shelter for women, children and the elderly.

The couple then went on to meet with members of the Kelty Mental Health Resources Centre and then met with more fans and members of the community.

And finally the couple boarded a tallship with the Sail and Life Training Society and Jack.org, two groups aimed at supporting youth.

The Royals finished the day by bidding Canadians a fond farewell in Victoria.

Finally, Kensington Palaces issued several tweets thanking Canadians for their hospitality during this visit.

Friday, Sept. 30 (Day 7)

The royal couple spent Friday in Haida Gwaii, B.C. They started the day with a canoe trip from Skidegate Landing and then travelled to Haida Heritage Centre and Museum.

The couple then visited the Haida Heritage Centre and Museum.

The Duke and Duchess also spent time visiting the new Haidi Gwaii General Hospital in Queen Charlotte.

And finally, they ended the day with a boat ride with young people from Skidegate Youth Centre.

Thursday, Sept. 29 (Day 6)

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge brought along their two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to attend a children's party at Government House in Victoria on Thursday. The children were seen playing with other kids, balloons, animals and bubbles.

Many people took to social media to comment on how cute Princess Charlotte and Prince George are.

Wednesday, Sept. 28 (Day 5)

The fifth day of the royal visit opened with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visiting the MacBride Museum of Yukon History in Whitehorse. They later stopped by a community street festival and a marketplace in Carcross, Yukon. The couple finished the day on Montana Mountain where they visited with some mountain bikers and young riders.

The couple then went on to attend a community street festival.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge later paid a visit to the boardwalk steps at the Carcross Commons, a marketplace in Carcross, Yukon, where they met with the Chief of the Carcross Tagish Nation, Chief Andy Carvill.

 

A few royal watchers pointed out that Kate was wearing a heather-grey wrap coat made by Canadian designer Sentaler -- a brand sometimes worn by Sophie Gregoire Trudeau.

 

The Royals ended their day on Montana Mountain where they watched a mountain biking demonstration from Single Track to Success, a program that provides training and wellness to young people in the community.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 27 (Day 4)

Tuesday opened with the royals headed to Kelowna for an appearance at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, followed by a winery tour and a demonstration of women's volleyball.

B.C. Premier Christy Clark was among those waiting in Kelowna to welcome the royals when their plane touched down, as she continued to accompany them on their tour through her home province. Clark escorted Will and Kate to UBC Okanagan for their appearance, amid a large crowd of gathered students and royal-watchers.

The royals then took in a volleyball game and met with the players.

Residents in Whitehorse were also eager to see the royals for the second half of their Tuesday tour, which includes spending the night in the Yukon capital.

Monday, Sept. 26 (Day 3)

The royal couple's aerial tour of the Great Bear Rainforest and boat tour of Bella Bella Harbour were cancelled, but they still met with members of the Heiltsuk First Nation.

The weather provided an appropriate B.C. welcome during the Duke and Duchess’ visit to the Great Bear Rainforest, as one local pointed out on Twitter.

With a slow start Monday, Twitter users took time to reflect on their favourite moment: the royal snub.

Meanwhile on Instagram, it was all about the Duchess of Cambridge’s outfits.

 

Sunday, Sept. 25 (Day 2)

The royal couple started their Sunday at the Vancouver Harbour and then travelled to Jack Poole Plaza where fans had been waiting for hours.

Fans were cheering when the Duke and Duchess finally landed and greeted as many people as they could. Kensington Palace tweeted out a picture of the royal couple walking from the plane, saying it was a “great way to arrive in the city!”

Twitter and Instagram users posted pictures of their close encounters with the royal couple, as well as comments revealing their excitement.

After a tour of Sheway, an outreach program that provides support for pregnant women with substance abuse issues, the Duke and Duchess headed to the Immigrant Services Society, where staff eagerly awaited their arrival.

Both Kensington Palace and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau posted on Twitter about the extremely warm welcome the Royal Family received Saturday night while Gov. Gen. David Johnston tweeted out a photo of himself and wife Sharon Johnston with the royal couple.

Saturday, Sept. 24 (Day 1)

The Royal Family has arrived in Canada.

People from across the country and the world took to social media to express their excitement for the royal tour and to welcome the family to Canada.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted Friday afternoon that he and wife Sophie Gregoire Trudeau will meet the Royal Family at the Legislative Assembly and that he’s excited to welcome them to “beautiful B.C.”

Saturday morning, the B.C. Legislature confirmed the red carpet had been rolled out in anticipation of the Royal Family’s arrival. Another Twitter user camped out at the Legislative Assembly posted a picture of the red carpet being vacuumed a few hours later.

Kids and after-school groups were also getting ready for the arrival of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. The Union Gospel Mission shared a picture of the banner the kids in its after-school group painted to welcome the royals. Experiences Canada, a charity that organizes exchanges across Canada, also tweeted about the kids that will get a chance to meet the Duke and Duchess this weekend.

People on social media also expressed their excitement for the Royals to touch down in Victoria.
