TORONTO - The Maple Leafs go into training camp with 79 players on their roster.

The squad features 47 forwards, 25 defencemen and seven goaltenders.

All will head to Halifax for training camp with the exception of the eight players competing at the World Cup and injured reserve players like Joffrey Lupul and Stephane Robidas.

The team was slated to leave for Halifax after its morning media duties with its first on-ice activity scheduled for Friday morning in Bedford, N.S.

Toronto's first pre-season game is Monday against the Ottawa Senators at Halifax's Scotiabank Centre.
