EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Jere Sallinen to a one-year entry-level contract.

The 25-year-old has appeared in 50 games with Jokerit of the Kontinental Hockey League this season, posting 19 points (8 goals, 11 assists), 79 penalty minutes and a plus-8 rating.

The six-foot, 183-pound winger has accumulated 34 points and 107 penalty minutes in 98 career KHL games.

The Espoo, Finland native has represented his country several times internationally, including the 2010 world junior hockey championship and most recently at the 2014 world hockey championship.

Sallinen was selected by Minnesota in the sixth round, 163rd overall in the 2009 NHL draft.
