WINNIPEG - The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have acquired backup quarterback Josh Portis in a trade with the Toronto Argonauts.

The Argos received a 2015 conditional draft pick in the deal.

Portis, 27, originally signed with the Argonauts in June 2013. He spent most of last season on the injured list, dressing in one game as a backup.

Prior to joining the Argos, Portis spent the 2012 season with the Seattle Seahawks as their third-string quarterback. He also spent time on their practice roster.

In 2009, he set a school record at California University of Pennsylvania, throwing for 3,421 yards and 36 touchdowns.
