RIVERSIDE, Calif.- Sentencing for Peter Pocklington on a perjury charge in California has been delayed again.

The former owner of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers was in a Riverside courtroom Thursday morning, but the judge put the case over until Oct. 27.

A lawyer with the U.S. Attorney's Office said the judge wanted more time to review a submission by Pocklington's lawyer that was filed with the court a few days ago.

Pocklington, who was accused of lying during bankruptcy proceedings, pleaded guilty to perjury last May.

A plea deal suggested Pocklington serve probation and six months of home detention with electronic monitoring.

The 68-year-old must also make full restitution after working with the Internal Revenue Service to determine his income tax liability between 2006 and 2008.
