Mayor Rob Ford tells a young boy that people "make fun of me all the time," in a newly released video of the moments after Toronto city council voted to strip him of his powers.

The video was posted to YouTube on Tuesday, the one-year anniversary of the council vote, which took place after Ford admitted he had smoked crack cocaine. A former office staffer of Ford’s, Brendan Croskerry, shot the video and edited it together with his own original musical compositions.

The songs are from Croskerry’s new EP, "Live From City Hall."

After the vote, the mayor is seen returning to his office, where he is serenaded by a young boy. When he is finished, the boy asks if he feels better, and Ford replies: "I feel amazing."

Ford gives the boy a hug and signs a "Ford Nation" t-shirt for him. He then takes the boy and his father on a tour of his office.

When the boy notices all of the framed cartoons on the wall, Ford says: "Oh yeah, they make fun of me all the time."

He tells the boy that when he’s a famous singer, jealous people will make fun of him.

"You know what? Laugh at it. Don't get mad," Ford tells the boy. "Because there’s always jealous people out there and the higher you go up in life, the more jealous they get."

The video ends with Ford walking the boy and his father out of his office. Camera flashes from the journalists waiting outside light up the screen.

Ford dropped out of the mayoral race following a cancer diagnosis earlier this fall. He is currently undergoing treatment, but was re-elected to his old council seat in Ward 2.

His brother, Doug, ultimately lost the mayoral race to John Tory.
