The Toronto Symphony Orchestra is welcoming refugees with a performance accompanied by Syrian clarinetist and composer Kinan Azmeh.

The video is meant to "celebrate the culture of the Syrians arriving in Canada," the TSO said in a statement Tuesday.

"While there's been much discussion concerning the Syrian refugee crisis, what we have missed is what these refugees bring to us and how our communities will benefit from welcoming them," TSO President and CEO Jeff Melanson said in the video.

"This piece is our musical hope to continue the conversation."

The partnership between the TSO and Azmeh represents "the gift of culture the Syrian refugees will being," Lifeline Syria co-founder Leen Al Zaibak said in the video.

"Lost amid the stories of violence and tragedy is the beauty and strength of one of the world's great civilizations."
