Supermodel Naomi Campbell is heading from the runway to the small screen.

The fashion icon stars on the new modelling competition series "The Face," and joins fellow models Karolina Kurkova and Canada's Coco Rocha as mentors

Campbell describes her coaching style on "The Face" as "honest" and "tough" and that the opportunity to mentor models rather than judging them sold her on the project.

Models on "The Face" will compete in challenges ranging from photo shoots and runway shows to commercials for national brands.

The series winner will become spokesperson and brand ambassador for U.S. retailer Ulta Beauty.

Canadians will see a homegrown model competing for the top prize.

Twenty-year-old Jocelyn Chew of Victoria is on Campbell's team.

The series embarked on a worldwide search for participants, with the top 12 hailing from Australia, China, Russia and the U-S.

Former "America's Next Top Model" judge Nigel Barker will host the new series.

"The Face" premieres tonight at 9 p.m. ET on MuchMusic.
