Walt Disney has released a motion poster for its up-coming "Pete's Dragon" live-action-animated film. It is a remake of Disney's 1977 classic movie based on the short story by Seton I. Miller and S.S. Field.

This reimagining of Disney's family film is the tale of an orphaned boy named Pete (Oakes Fegley, "This is Where I Leave You") and his best friend Elliot, who is a dragon. An old wood carver, Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has told local children for years about a dragon that roams the forest. His daughter Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard, "Jurassic World") doesn't believe in the tales until she meets the 10 year old Pete who has no family or home and claims to live in the woods with a dragon. Pete's description of the dragon strongly resembles the one from her father's stories. Grace then sets out to find out where Pete came from and the truth about the mysterious dragon.

"Pete's Dragon" is directed by David Lowry ("Ain't Them Bodies Saints") and written by Lowry and Toby Halbrooks. It is produced by Jim Whitaker ("The Finest Hours").

The film will be released on August 12, 2016 in U.S. theaters.
