MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The owner of a Montgomery bar that was the scene of a fatal shooting over the weekend says she doesn't plan to reopen the business.

City officials closed the Centennial Bar and Grill after 22-year-old rapper Glenn Thomas, known as Doe B., and 21-year-old Kimberle Johnson were fatally shot early Saturday. Six others were wounded and were hospitalized in stable condition.

Owner of the Centennial Bar and Grill, Nicole Bankhead, told the Montgomery Advertiser that security officers were supposed to check patrons for firearms, and signs posted at the entrances say that weapons are prohibited.

No arrests have been made, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear.

The newspaper reports the bar and its surrounding area have been the scene of multiple shootings in the past seven years.
