The Vancouver Canucks are going to bring the Stanley Cup home to Canada for the first time, the simulation engines behind EA Sports NHL 11 are predicting.

And if Boston Bruins fans are scoffing that it's just a video game, they may not like these numbers -- the simulation has correctly predicted 13 out of 14 playoff rounds so far this year.

EA Sports also predicted last year's NHL playoffs correctly, with the Chicago Blackhawks winning Lord Stanley's mug.

According to video game maker EA, the series, which begins on Wednesday, will go seven games with the Canucks winning Game 7 by a score of 3-1.

Many sports analysts are expecting a long slog of a series between the Canucks and Bruins, two of the best defensive teams this season.

Boston won the lone game played between the teams this year, 3-1.

The entire series prediction from EA Sports:

  • Game 1: Boston 1 @ Vancouver 2 (OT)
  • Game 2: Boston 2 @ Vancouver 4
  • Game 3: Vancouver 0 @ Boston 1
  • Game 4: Vancouver 2 @ Boston 3
  • Game 5: Boston 2 @ Vancouver 4
  • Game 6: Vancouver 2 @ Boston 3 (OT)
  • Game 7: Boston 1 @ Vancouver 3
