Sometimes, the cat really does come back, but it’s not always the very next day.

Case in point: Will the cat, from Prince Edward Island, disappeared during a snowstorm, and 19 months later, the furry feline showed up in his owner’s Cardigan, P.E.I. yard, much to her surprise.

“I was shocked,” Will’s owner, Norma Moore-Dingwell, told CTV News Channel on Thursday. “I didn’t believe it was him at first.”

The happy cat owner says Will went missing during a snowstorm that was so bad, “you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face.”

Moore-Dingwell said Will was a “little underweight” when he returned home late last month, but was otherwise in pretty good condition.

“The vet thinks he lost part of his ear to frostbite, but other than that he was … quite hungry, and thirsty,” Moore-Dingwell said. “But he was in good shape.”

She says she has “no idea” of Will’s whereabouts during his time away.

Moore-Dingwell said it’s possible Will travelled to and sought shelter at the farms located in a nearby town.

After his big adventure, Will is taking it easy, and doing what house cats do: resting and eating.

“He remembered where his room was so that was kinda nice,” Moore-Dingwell said.

Life may now have returned to normal for Will, but Moore-Dingwell thinks it’s a “miracle that he found his way back.”
