SASKATOON - A Saskatoon man has been fined $6,500 after pleading guilty to five firearms offences in provincial court.

Saskatchewan's Environment Ministry says the charges against Donald Scheuerman included unlawful possession of restricted firearms.

Scheuerman illegally shot a white-tailed deer on private land near Kindersley last November, cut part of the deer's skull and antlers off and left the rest behind.

The firearms were discovered as part of an RCMP investigation into a complaint into the wildlife infractions.

Scheuerman was fined $5,600 in August for illegal hunting.

Provincial court has also imposed a firearms ban for Scheuerman, who is also prohibited from hunting for five years.
