Two airliners were forced to delay their landings at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport due to reports of a drone near the airport on Friday morning.

The Porter Airlines and Air Canada flights held over Lake Ontario before making their approach to the downtown island airport. Both were arriving from Montreal.

Neither plane was at risk of colliding with the object, which is believed to have left the area. A smaller civil aircraft was also delayed.

The sighting follows an incident on Nov. 14, when an inbound Porter flight was forced to dive suddenly to avoid a mid-air collision with an object in its flight path east of Toronto while on approach to Billy Bishop. Two flight attendants were injured as a result of the manoeuvre before the plane landed.
