Here’s what you need to know this morning before your weekend plans set in: the Zehaf-Bibeau video will be watched today, man charged for refusing to give border officials access to his phone, a controversial Tory Facebook post, the rise of “rink rage” in minor hockey and Harrison Ford was injured in a plane crash. We also want to test your knowledge in a bonus quiz on daylight time.

1. A chilling message: This morning, RCMP Commissioner Bob Paulson will publicly show the video recorded by Michael Zehaf-Bibeau before his attack on Parliament Hill last October. Paulson will show the video before a Commons public safety committee. Paulson has said that the video laid out Zehaf-Bibeau's reasons for the Ottawa attacks.

2. Password protected: If a border official asked to browse through your phone or tablet during a customs search, would you let them? A man who refused to give Canadian border officials in Halifax the passcode for his smartphone is now facing a “hindering” charge. A Dalhousie University law professor says the legality of searching password-protected devices is an “open question,” even though customs agents have “quite a licence to fish.”

3. Facebook post too far? A Conservative Party’s Facebook post promoting the government’s new anti-terror legislation is raising eyebrows for its use of an image of a Somali militant and a quote threatening an attack on the West Edmonton Mall. The irony? The post may be violating the very law it is promoting.

4. Rink rage: A new poll has confirmed what most Canadians already know: Parents who yell and swear from the stands are a common sight at youth hockey games. About half of people who attended junior league games in the previous two years said they witnessed a parent berating a player. And referees seem to have it even worse.

5. Harrison Ford crash: The legendary actor is expected to make a full recovery after crash-landing a vintage plane on a Los Angeles golf course. A publicist said 72-year-old Ford is “banged up,” but will be fine. The actor’s son tweeted: “He is every bit the man you would think he is. He is an incredibly strong man.”
