As Nintendo enjoys a renaissance fuelled by the smash-hit success of "Pokemon Go," the video game company has announced it will re-introduce a mini version of its classic NES console system.

The console’s size, which envokes Mario without a growth mushroom, is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand.

It’s pre-loaded with 30 classic games from the original Nintendo Entertainment System, including all-time favourites like the first three "Super Mario Bros." games, "Final Fantasy," "Metroid," "Donkey Kong," the first two "Zelda" games and "Punch-Out!!" (the "Mr. Dream" version, not the original one with Mike Tyson).

Unlike the original NES, this one will allow players to save their progress at multiple points, so you won't have to leave the TV on in the middle of a "Dr. Mario" marathon.

The console comes with an HDMI port, as well as ports for a classic flat controller, although gamers can also connect a Wii remote if they choose.

Nintendo says the mini-NES will go on sale on Nov. 11, in time for the Christmas season, and will retail for $79.99.

A second controller can be purchased sold separately for $12.99.
