Financial expert and TV personality Kevin O’Leary is leaving the CBC and joining Bell Media as an on-air contributor.

O’Leary’s new role officially begins Sept. 1. He will appear on BNN, Canada AM and other Bell Media programs and properties, the company announced Tuesday. He will also be heard on radio stations 580 CFRA, CJAD 800 and Newstalk 1010.

Bell Media also owns CTV News.

“We are very happy to welcome Kevin,” Bell Media president Kevin Crull said in a news release.

“Kevin is an engaging personality whose savvy advice and strong business acumen will be of great interest to our viewers and listeners.”

O’Leary said he’s “excited” to join Bell Media, especially since he began his TV career at CTV.

“I look forward to working with some of Canada’s finest producers to maintain the dialogue about capitalism, entrepreneurialism, and family finance that we need to have as a nation,” he said.

O’Leary was previously the co-host of CBC’s The Lang & O’Leary Exchange. He is also a panelist on Shark Tank, a U.S. reality show featuring entrepreneurs’ pitches to investors, which airs on CTV Two.

O’Leary is a well-known venture investor who leads a group of financial companies. He is the chairman of O’Leary Funds.
