Canadian dollar rises to 78.72 cents US

The Canadian dollar ended the day at 78.72 cents US, up 0.36 of a cent from Wednesday's close.

The U.S. dollar closed at 127.03 cents Cdn, down 0.58 of a cent.

Pound sterling was at C$1.8904, down 1.53 cents and US$1.4882, down 0.52 of a cent.

The Euro closed at C$1.3489, up 0.39 of a cent.
