Nov. 9: U.S. President Barack Obama addressed the nation from the Rose Garden at the White House and urged America to join him in rooting for President-elect Donald Trump's success.

Nov. 9: Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton gave her concession speech on Wednesday morning and offered to work with Trump.

Nov. 9: Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Kaine thanked supporters before introducing Hillary Clinton ahead of her concession speech.

Nov. 9: Wednesday morning, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada spokesperson Lisa Filipps confirmed that as the day drew to an end on November 8, Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s website was “temporarily inaccessible” to users. This happened as the U.S. election results were being tallied. The outage was due to a surge in people trying to access it.

Nov. 9: In Washington, D.C., on Capitol Hill, a house known as Sewall-Belmont drew voters who left flowers and "I voted" stickers. Sewall-Belmont is the headquarters of the National Women's Party.

Nov. 9: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issues a statement on the result of the U.S. election from Ottawa.

Nov. 9: Russian president Vladimir Putin sends President-elect Donald Trump a telegram to congratulate him on winning.

Nov. 9:  Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton conceded the presidency to Donald Trump in a phone call early Wednesday morning.

Nov. 8: In Nevada, lawyers for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump file a lawsuit. The claim: polling locations were kept open "two hours beyond the designated closing time."

Nov. 8: Susan B. Anthony was arrested for illegally casting a ballot in the presidential election on November 8, 1872. Over a century later, voters flock to her grave site to pay their respect.
