Prince George took a pony ride and Princess Charlotte showed off her blossoming walking skills at a children’s tea party in Victoria, B.C., as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with Canadian military families.

It was a rare public appearance for the young royals who, until Thursday, have not attended many official public engagements during the eight-day tour of Canada.
The Royal Family met with military families on the grounds of Government House in Victoria. The outdoor party featured a petting zoo, puppet show, balloon animals and plenty of bubbles.
The Duchess of Cambridge wore a champagne-coloured knit dress by Chloe, a French fashion house, while George wore crimson-red shorts, a blue sweater and long black socks. Charlotte donned a pale blue dress with a matching blue bow in her hair.
The royals mingled among crowd, with George blowing bubbles and Kate kneeling down to pet a fluffy white dog. They also met with families from the Esquimalt Military Family Resource Centre, including 24 children who were five years old or younger.
Each child in attendance had at least one parent serving overseas.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge returned to Victoria from Whitehorse, Yukon on Wednesday, after watching First Nations dancers, sending a telegraph and meeting with artists in the territory.
During their visit to Yukon, they also travelled to the community of Carcross and stopped by a local marketplace.
