Winnipeg Transit is extending how long riders can use transfers. On Thursday, the city announced that transfers will now be 90 minutes long—an increase of 15 minutes from the previous limit. The city noted that Transit is making this change because many passengers expressed the need for a longer transfer window with the launch of the new transit network. “We’re continuing to make changes to transit based on what riders tell us,” said Mayor Scott Gillingham in a news release. “Extending the transfer window is one more step in a series of improvements to make the system more convenient and reliable for Winnipeggers.” Passengers can request a transfer once they board the bus and pay their fare. Transfers are valid from the time issued and can be used on any regular bus route. The change to transfer times will begin on Monday.
