Winnipeg lifts winter route parking ban

While it might not feel like spring has sprung, the City of Winnipeg has lifted its annual winter route parking ban.

The city announced the ban was lifted Thursday, noting no other winter parking bans are currently in place.

The annual ban, which prohibited parking on designated streets any time between 2 and 7 a.m., came into effect in early December 2025.

Vehicles who violated the ban were at risk of a $100 ticket or a tow.

Less than a week into the ban, the city issued over 1,000 tickets and towed roughly 700 vehicles.

Going forward, the city said any snow-related updates can be found on its website.
