The Winnipeg Police Service has made two arrests in connection to the assault of a bus driver on Monday night. The attack took place on a Winnipeg Transit bus in the 200 block of Main Street and involved a man and woman who were both passengers on the bus. According to police, the incident began when the male passenger got into an argument with the 26-year-old bus driver. Officers allege the incident escalated and resulted in the man physically assaulting the driver, who was also spat on by the woman. The suspects both got off the bus, with the man then allegedly taking out a knife and slashing the outside of the bus before it drove away. Winnipeg police were notified of the attack and arrested the suspects in a parking lot in the 1800 block of Main Street. A 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman have been charged and are in custody. The charges have not been proven in court.
