Trailer for ‘The Long Walk,’ Stephen King adaptation filmed in Manitoba, released

The first trailer has been released for 'The Long Walk,' a movie that was filmed in Manitoba last year.

An adaptation of a Stephen King novel filmed last year in Manitoba now has a trailer and a release date.

The trailer for the Lionsgate film ‘The Long Walk,’ was officially released online Wednesday.

The movie is adapted from King’s 1979 dystopian novel of the same name, written under the pen name Richard Bachman.

It’s about a race where the contestants must keep walking at three miles per hour, or be shot. The last one walking wins.

The movie was filmed at Birds Hill Provincial Park, along with other locations around Manitoba.

The cast includes ‘Star Wars’ legend Mark Hamill, along with Judy Greer and was directed by Francis Lawrence (‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,’ ‘The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes’).

The film will be released in theatres Sept. 12.
