A local teenager is turning the streets of Charleswood into an art gallery. Fifteen-year-old Hope Gross has been taking to her neighbourhood sidewalk to create intricate art using chalk. Her pieces include colourful drawings of mystical creatures including dragons. Gross explained creating chalk art is a hobby she enjoys in the summertime that allows her to express her creativity. “I’ve really enjoyed just expressing myself through art and it’s just fun to colour and use the colours to express my feelings,” she said in an interview on Thursday. Gross said she chooses to create her art on the sidewalk so that more people will see it and enjoy. “If people smile then my work’s done,” she said. Gross said she comes up with her own art inspiration but plans to take a suggestion from a young fan to draw a polar bear with blue eyes and a pink dress.
