Manitoba is currently dealing with a province-wide 911 outage Wednesday afternoon. A message from the National Public Alerting System said all Manitoba communities, except for the City of Winnipeg, are impacted by the service disruption. In an emailed statement, a Bell spokesperson confirmed some customers in Manitoba are unable to make 911 calls. “We are investigating a suspected third-party fibre cut and are working to restore service as quickly as possible,” the spokesperson said in a statement, noting the situation was evolving. The City of Brandon confirmed they were one of the communities impacted. The alert said people outside of Winnipeg should try to call 911 as their first option. If you cannot get through and need emergency assistance, it says to call the 10-digit phone number for their local police service, fire department or emergency department.
