One found dead following Winnipeg house fire

One person has died following a fire in a Winnipeg home Monday night.

One person has died following a house fire in the city’s Munroe West neighbourhood Monday night.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to the house fire in the 300 block of Trent Avenue at 8:20 p.m.

When they arrived, heavy smoke and flames could be seen coming from a one-and-a-half-storey home. Crews entered the home to extinguish the fire, declaring it under control at 9:13 p.m.

When they searched the house, one person was found inside and declared dead at the scene.

The fire remains under investigation and no damage estimates are available.
