A women’s curling team in Manitoba will be going their separate ways when the season comes to an end. The team, which includes skip Kate Cameron, Briane Harris as third, second Taylor McDonald and lead Mackenzie Elias, announced on social media it will disband at the end of the current season. “Although the season didn’t receive the results we hoped for, we remain great friends, and will forever be cheering each other on in whatever is next,” the post reads. The team formed three years ago and is ranked 13th in Canada among women’s teams. Harris, who spent seven years with Kerri Einarson’s rink and was suspended for more than a year for an anti-doping rule violation in 2024, joined Cameron’s rink in 2025, playing third as the team worked to qualify for the 2026 Winter Olympics. The team went 1-6 at the Olympic Curling Trials in November 2025. Cameron’s rink recently lost a semifinal match against a team skipped by Beth Peterson at the 2026 RME Women of the Rings Championship, missing out on qualifying for the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
