Jason Kelce spotted in Winnipeg

A Winnipeg worker is buzzing about his encounter over the weekend with a retired NFL star.

Super Bowl champion Jason Kelce and the future brother-in-law of Taylor Swift, was spotted in Winnipeg Sunday evening at CF Polo Park.

“I was working upstairs, and I noticed a rather large man heading through our store, and I was like, ‘I recognize that guy,’” Lean, a Sport Check employee who asked that his last name not be used, said.

Lean pulled out his phone, and sure enough, the large man walking through the store was the former NFL star and popular podcast host.

“I tried to be respectful,” he said. “He was trying on different jerseys, and I asked if it was OK if I got a picture, and he said it was OK. Then he started asking me about the jerseys.”

Lean described him as a very nice guy and “a regular dude.” He said Kelce left with a Team Canada jersey.

CF Polo Park wasn’t the only place Kelce was spotted.

The Forks confirmed that Kelce was at the popular tourist destination over the weekend. According to communications coordinator Adam Dooley, Kelce was spotted eating at Zorba’s restaurant, where he ordered the honey dill chicken poutine.

“We’re always happy to host visitors to our city, whether they’re NFL stars or not,” Dooley said in a statement. “We hope he enjoyed his time here and we’d love for him to return to sit on the patio this summer.”

The Kelce brothers have a connection with Winnipeg. Jason and Travis were teammates with Blue Bombers quarterback Zach Collaros at the University of Cincinnati, and Travis and Collaros were roommates.
