While the sun shines on southern Manitoba, showers will fall across northern regions on Friday. Much of the south will enjoy a mix of sun and cloud and afternoon highs reaching 23 C and 24 C, including Winnipeg and Brandon. Meanwhile, showers will likely continue to spread across most of northern Manitoba afternoon. Daytime highs should reach the upper teens in most communities. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) cautions funnel clouds could form Friday afternoon, adding there is an outside chance of a landspout tornado — although the risk is considerably low. It will also be a soggy weekend for much of the north. The weather agency said unsettled weather will continue over the next few days courtesy of a low-pressure system over Hudson Bay. There is a chance of showers in otherwise cloudy conditions across northwestern Ontario Friday afternoon. Highs are forecast to reach the low 20s. Saturday will start with sunshine in Winnipeg before clouding over in the afternoon. Sunday will see a mix of sun and clouds. Look for daytime highs both days to reach near 24 C.
