The City of Winnipeg wants your feedback on the design for a bridge that needs to be replaced. The city released preliminary designs for the Omand’s Creek Pedestrian Bridge project on Thursday, with residents being asked to weigh in online or at two drop-in events. A 2024 report said the bridge needed to be replaced within the next five years due to its age, repeated closures due to flooding and accessibility concerns from steep pathways. “The draft design raises the bridge to help reduce flooding and rebuilds the pathways to improve safety and accessibility for people of all ages and abilities, while respecting the park’s natural setting,” the city said in a news release. The city will hold public consultation for the bridge on June 2 at Omand Park and June 9 at the Wolseley Farmers Market. Both discussions will run from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. More information can be found online.
